FAQ
Does LetSentry hold my rent before paying it to me? No. Rent flows from the tenant to GoCardless, which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under FRN 597190, and then settles directly into your nominated bank account. LetSentry never receives, holds or controls tenant money at any point.
What does rent collection cost? LetSentry does not add a fee for rent collection, and it is available on the Free tier. GoCardless charges its own transaction fees under the agreement you enter into with them, which you see before you authorise anything.
What happens if a payment fails? The failure is recorded against the tenancy and the payment shows as unpaid rather than silently disappearing. Arrears reminders then escalate in stages so the chase is consistent and documented.
Can I still record rent paid by standing order or cash? Yes. The rent ledger accepts manual entries alongside Direct Debit collections, so a tenancy paying by standing order or in cash still produces a complete record.
Can I raise the rent through the software? You can generate a Section 13 rent increase notice on Form 4A from the tenancy record, with the notice period applied, then serve and archive it. Whether the proposed rent is appropriate is your decision, and a tenant can refer a Section 13 notice to the First-tier Tribunal.
